NIT Srinagar on Thursday said that they been granted permission for construction of G 3, 700-seater, mega boys’ hostel in the campus.
This project is being funded by the Higher Education Funding Agency (HEFA) to the tune of Rs. 85 crores. The construction is being executed by the Central Deptt. (CPWD) under the supervision of Dean Planning and Development, NIT Srinagar.
The Institute currently provides accommodation to around 2100 students. Due to the increased intake in the past few years, there was an acute shortage of accommodation for the students. With this approval, the long pending demand of the students will be met and will go a long way in providing a comfortable stay for the students on the campus.
