Jammu Kashmir Sunday reported 183 fresh COVID-19 cases including 132 from Kashmir and 51 from Jammu, bringing the total number of case to 8429, officials said.
Sunday’s cases include 59 from Srinagar, 20 from Kupwara, Budgam 19, Samba 18, Baramulla 17, Ramban 10, Jammu nine, Kathua seven, Kulgam and Pulwama four each, Anantnag and Doda three each, Udhampur and Rajouri two each, and Shopian and Ganderbal one each.
Of these cases, 42 samples returned positive at the Viral Diagnostic and Research Lab (VDRL) of SKIMS Srinagar, which tested 2176 samples during the past 24 hours.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said the cases include 18 from Budgam, nine from Srinagar, Kupwara and Kulgam three each, Bandipora, Pulwama, Anantnag and Baramulla two each, and Shopian one.
Similarly, the COVID-19 testing lab of SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina Sunday tested 476 samples of which 20, all from Srinagar, returned positive.
The coronavirus dedicated hospital has so far admitted 657 positive patients of which 543 have been discharged while 108 are undergoing treatment.
The hospital also conducted 30 lower segment caesarean section (LSCS) surgeries and 20 normal deliveries of pregnant women who tested positive for COVID-19.
The government said of the total 3,99,385 test results available, 3,90,956 returned negative and 8429 positive which include 3042 active positive cases while 5255 have recovered and been discharged including 112 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 2,96,591 persons had been put under observation including 40,149 in home quarantine, 3042 in hospital isolation, and 42 in hospital quarantine while 45,780 people are under home surveillance and 2,07,446 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar tops the list with 1151 cases followed by Baramulla with 1023, Kulgam 859, Shopian 849, Anantnag 720, Kupwara 604, Pulwama 538, Budgam 486, Bandipora 307, and Ganderbal 119.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 397 cases followed by Udhampur with 290, Kathua 249, Ramban 236, Samba 186, Poonch and Rajouri 124 each, Doda 93, Reasi 45, and Kishtwar 29.
Jammu Kashmir has so far reported 133 deaths to coronavirus pandemic of which 119 have been reported from Kashmir division.
