In social media gag, youth miss contest opportunities

Due to ban on social media, the J&K youth couldn’t participate in various video contests to showcase their talent in different fields of art.
Recently, Jio announced video contest ‘Jio’s Got Talent’ providing opportunity to youth to bag a free trip to abroad.
The Jio’s got talent is organized by Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited and is available on Snapchat app.
Snapchat is amongst many other social media apps blacklisted in JK.
Afaan Bhat, an engineering student said they have lost many other opportunities like this.
“We could have participated in this talent hunt and we could have won the contest,” he said.
The talent hunt commenced on 26 Jan 2020 and will last till 4 Feb 2020.
Jio’s got talent is a video contest for snapchatters to demonstrate their talent and flair to win prizes. The platform offers to connect with other people in an artistic, amusing and expressive manner.
Mohammad Moyeen, a Jio user and snapchat lover said it was a wonderful opportunity for him.
“I love to use Snapchat and maybe I could have been the one to win the contest,” he added.
To take part in challenge, users have to record a video (max 10 seconds) showcasing their talent using “Jio’s got talent” lens on the snapchat app.
Jio’s got talent will announce its winners soon. A trip to Thailand which is a ‘Grand Prize’ for two and 100 best entries will get a one month recharge from Jio.
According to a statement issued by the Reliance, Jio and Snapchat had created a Snapchat lens that allows users to select different augmented reality (AR) props like a mic, headphone and light-rings.
