COVID-19:17 die, 975 test positive

Total infection count rises to 75,070

Seventeen more COVID-19 patients have died in the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1181 while Wednesday reported 975 fresh cases, taking the total infection count to 75,070, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include 11 from Jammu division and six from Kashmir division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to novel coronavirus has soared to 1181 in Jammu and Kashmir, which include 839 from Kashmir and 342 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 292 deaths, Baramulla 124, Budgam 82, Pulwama 68, Kupwara 67, Anantnag 65, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 37, Shopian 32, and Ganderbal 29.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 184 deaths, Rajouri 32, Doda 28, Kathua 22, Samba 20, Udhampur 18, Poonch 15, Ramban 10, Kishtwar seven and Reasi six.
On Wednesday, J&K reported 975 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 568 from Jammu and 407 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 75,070.
The government said of the total 16,22,775 test results available, 15,47,705 returned negative and 75,070 positive which include 17,017 active positive cases while 56,872 have recovered and been discharged including 1355 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,76,398 persons had been put under observation including 15,423 in home quarantine and 17,017 in isolation while 50,575 people are under home surveillance and 4,92,202 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 14,882 cases, Budgam 4871, Baramulla 4388, Pulwama 3942, Anantnag 3519, Bandipora 3400, Kupwara 3613, Ganderbal 2891,
Kulgam 2266, and Shopian 2027.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 13,015 cases, Rajouri 2653, Udhampur 2253, Kathua 2063, Doda 2211, Samba 1762, Poonch 1774, Ramban 1335, Kishtwar 1241, and Reasi 964.
