COVID-19: Two more die in Kashmir, JK toll 96

Kashmir witnessed two more COVID-19 deaths on Monday, taking the number of casualties caused by the virus in Jammu Kashmir to 96, officials said.
A 65-year-old man from south Kashmir’s Shopian district, who was admitted at SMHS Hospital on June 18, died Monday morning.
Medical Superintendent SMHS, Dr Nazir H Choudhary said the patient was admitted as a case of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
“He was also suffering from hypertension, fever, and cough. The deceased tested positive for coronavirus today,” he said.
Choudhary said a 45-year-old man from Bijbehara area of Anantnag admitted at SMHS Hospital on Sunday with bilateral pneumonia died Monday evening.
The deceased was a positive case of coronavirus.
With two fresh deaths, the death toll in J&K has soared to 96 that includes 85 from Kashmir.
According to the government, Srinagar has witnessed 22 deaths, Baramulla 15, Kulgam 13, Shopian 11, Budgam, Jammu and Anantnag seven each, Pulwama four, and Poonch, Bandipora, Udhampur, Doda and Rajouri one each.
