College Contractual Teachers hold protest, demand regularization

Blaming the administration for failing to regularize their services, All Jammu And Kashmir College Contractual Teachers Association (JKCCTA) on Monday held a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar.
The protesting teachers were holding ply cards ‘We demand job policy’, ‘We want Justice, ‘Justice delayed is Justice denied,” and ‘Provide us job security.’
The protestors led by Tariq Ahmad Bhatt, a resident of Iqbalabad Anantnag, said that they have been deceived by the successive governments as they had assured them of new job policy regarding their regularization.
“In most of the government departments, contractual employees have been regularized. But, in our case even though most of us have qualified PhD and NET and SET and have also crossed the age bar but we are yet to be regularized,” said Bhatt.
Following the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir into a Union Territory, Bhatt said they are in a state of dilemma that, “whether we will be be recruited or not.”
Bhatt appealed Lt. Governor G.C. Murmu led administration to look into their matter.
