12 die in 24 hours, JK toll 490

Twelve persons died of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 490 while 564 new cases were reported on Tuesday, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh deaths include three from Srinagar, two each from Anantnag and Jammu, and one each from Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Budgam.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 490 in J&K, which includes 453 from Kashmir and 37 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 157 deaths, Baramulla 83, Budgam 36, Anantnag 35, Kulgam 31, Pulwama 32, Kupwara 28, Shopian 24, Bandipora 18 and Ganderbal nine.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 26 deaths, Rajouri three, Doda and Udhampur two each, and Ramban, Kathua, Samba and Poonch one each.
J&K reported 564 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday which include 431 from Kashmir and 133 from Jammu, pushing the total infection tally to 25,931.
Today’s cases include 90 from Srinagar, 72 from Jammu, Bandipora 67, Ganderbal 45, Anantnag 42, Budgam 39, Pulwama 37, Kupwara 33, Kulgam 23, Poonch 14, Kathua 10, Kishtwar and Samba seven each, and Ramban and Udhampur six each.
The government said of the total 7,38,203 test results available, 7,12,272 returned negative and 25,931 positive, which include 7462 active positive cases while 17,979 have recovered and been discharged including the 604 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 3,98,400 persons had been put under observation including 40,902 in home quarantine and 7462 in isolation while 48,355 people are under home surveillance and 3,00,191 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 6350 cases, followed by Baramulla with 2231, Pulwama 1897, Kulgam 1642, Anantnag 1612, Budgam 1609, Shopian 1536, Kupwara 1306, Bandipora 1168, and Ganderbal 734.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has 1685 cases, Rajouri 767, Udhampur 631,
Kathua 612, Ramban 611, Samba 529, Doda 317, Poonch 289, Reasi 235, and Kishtwar 170.
